CIERTO COFOUNDER & CEO PARTICIPATES IN PANEL ON FAIR & ETHICAL RECRUITMENT IN AGRICULTURE
Last week CIERTO was honored to be invited to participate in the 2021 Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment (GFRR), an annual conference of non-profit organizations, NGOs, and businesses dedicated to advancing fair and ethical recruitment across industries that rely on a migration-based workforce.
The GFRR is sponsored by the Institute for Human Rights & Business, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM / IRIS), and the Leadership Group for Responsible Recruitment.
Due to COVID pandemic restrictions, this year’s event was completely virtual.
CIERTO co-founder and CEO, Joe Martinez took part in a 4-person panel focusing on Fair Recruitment in Agriculture. Joe’s focus on the panel, and in his work at CIERTO, focuses on centering the voices of migrant workers, the importance of incentivising clean and ethical recruitment for H2-A workers.
Responsible recruitment is not just a social cause. It’s good business as well. These workers are professional and this is skilled labor.

We captured the highlights of Joe’s appearance, and you can watch it here.
The entire diverse panel is well worth your time though, with strong contributions and salient points from a wide range of perspectives on how to go about changing the recruitment paradigm for the fresh food supply chain. Watch the whole thing.
